Catch The Move Over Mama Podcast On YouTube

The many podcasts I've listened to over the years left me feeling bored and at times made me fall asleep midway through the show.

Emily Jade O'Keefe, an Australian DJ, teamed up with her daughter Millie Valentine to bring the Move Over Mama podcast to the delight of adolescents all over the world.

You may already be familiar with Valentine and O'Keefe as they're blood relatives of Hayley Loeffler, Sam's wife of 16+ years, and Emily is actually her sibling.

I find it fascinating that the rest of Pete and Sam's family still love working together on projects as they both do as well.

One of my favorite moments from the MOMP episodes is when preteen finalist, twelve year old Sofia, discussed her “You Are Loved” plushies and her struggles with mental health issues in the midst of her parents divorcing and handling cruel bullies at school all while starting puberty.

I've also met my own difficulties concerning mental health, and these days in particular, it's especially difficult with relentless attacks from seedy people with hidden agendas triggering my suicidal ideation.

Below the video, a brief description reads:

“Miss Preteen Australia finalist and 12-year-old creator Sofia joins us to share how she turned bullying, anxiety and big feelings into something beautiful:

her You Are Loved plush toy range supporting kids’ mental health charity Kids Express.”

“Real advice for teens struggling right now – and for parents who don’t know what to do.”

According to their channel description, the pair explain their mission statement in the simplest of terms:

“Move Over Mama is a global, teen-led podcast hosted by Millie Valentine, with her mum Australian radio personality Emily Jade O’Keeffe

stepping aside and handing over the microphone.

Designed for teens navigating confidence, growth, and real life, the show features honest conversations

with inspiring guests about what growing up really looks like and the lessons that shape who we become.”

Aesthetically speaking, the neon pink lights give it a very festive feeling reminiscent of a nightclub where we all just sit and chill with drinks to talk about the most pressing issues in our lives as if you were having coffee with an old friend.

The warmth of comforting words and happy smiles invites a pleasant environment where it's safe to speak up about what ails us in spite of age.

We all need to know we are loved!
