Chevelle, in total, have amassed exactly twenty five acoustic songs to their name. It's no wonder why fans are so eager and patiently waiting for the Chicago duo to drop a compilation of their best acoustic tracks. Although the band's 2018 effort “12 Bloody Spies: B-sided and Rarities” satisfied this need within us to hear more acoustic work from Pete and Sam, it also catered to the rest of the fandom who love that hard-hitting trademark sound Chevelle have become well-known for.
The journey into acoustic gems began before Chevelle released any albums with demo “Tom” where Pete sings about his cat in the yard and let's not forget that basement performance of “Untitled 1”. The beginning of the final track on the band's debut “Point #1" called “Peer" slowly intriduces itself before the crescendo into a hard rock masterpiece. You can hear their ascent into this more melodic journey on sophomore effort “Wonder What's Next” with tracks like “Closure” and “One Lonely Visitor”. The expanded edition also features an acoustic cover of Sinead O'Connor's “Black Boys On Mopeds”.
Let's not forget Chevelle also covered their own tracks translating the more heavy metal fast paced songs like “Send The Pain Below”, “Vitamin R(Leading Us Along)”, “The Clincher”, “Sleep Apenea” into slower and more introspective numbers anyone can enjoy even if they're not the rock n' roll type, and an acoustic performance of “Revenge” in 2021 seals the deal.
Some of my favorite acoustic Chevelle songs are “Prima Donna”, “Indifference”, “Bend The Bracket” and “One Ocean”. They're all good songs, acoustic or not, but Chevelle just has the magic touch with these four tracks.
Comparing the two acoustic numbers on 2025's “Bright As Blasphemy”, namely “Hallucinations” and “Blood Out In The Fields”, they remind me of “Envy” from 2011's “Hats Off” and “One Ocean” from 2014's “La Gargola”. I don't really have a favorite since I love them both on one album, which is a great way to cut into heavy tracks one after the other.
There are other types of acoustic songs that also involve drum and bass, even electric guitar, for example: “Paint The Seconds” and “Saferwaters” off of 2007's “Vena Sera” and “Punchline” from 2016's “The North Corridor”.
Blast some acoustic Chevelle songs after reading this and enjoy the cozy vibes.
Chevelle hit the stage at The Grand Sierra Resort and Casino on April 18th, 2026 as direct support for Breaking Benjamin and alongside Dead Poet Society in Reno, NV for night one of the new tour. I'm happy that at least two songs from my favorite album “Hats Off To The Bull” made it onto the setlist, and fortunately, only a small handful of newer tracks also made it onto the setlist: “Pale Horse”, “Wolves”, “Rabbit Hole” and “Jim Jones(Cowards, part 1 and 2)” according to Instagrammer suffo_katie. People love older, I mean, retro songs, case in point “The Red” and “Send The Pain Below” which are common staples at every show.
If you were lucky enough to snag any tickets, some of these ran from $95-$300+, you caught what was probably a great night out. Fun fact: “Vena Sera”, Chevelle's fourth album, was actually produced in Vegas way back in 2007, but I digress, and say I wish I could've gone to this show. I miss seeing Chevelle live, but even though I don't go to concerts anymore, this is one I'm eager to experience again.
Follow Chevelle across all social platforms to keep up with the tour and don't forget to snag tickets to the fall tour.
Chevelle is officially penciled in to perform at Sonic Temple on May 15th, 2026 in place of The Offspring and others who dropped out of the event. The festival itself takes place May 14th-17th at the historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. According to Google, the Chicago outfit was added to the roster of performing acts following the cancellation of Tom Morello, The Offspring and Crown The Empire as confirmed by social media. Yikes!
A slew of headliners include My Chemical Romance, Shinedown, Bring Me The Horizon, and Tool.
This works out beautifully as Chevelle dropped their tenth album “Bright As Blasphemy” on August 15th, 2025 and owns a wide discography to keep audiences entertained for hours and hours and hours, years and centuries.
You have exactly twenty five days to sign up for discounts and secure your passes at a decent price before “week-of-show” mega pricing begins.
I want you to look at these ridiculous prices. If you buy a 4-day GA Stadium it'll cost you $470 with a final pricing of $481. A 4-day GA Stadium 4-pack is currently priced at $1,836 for final level. A Thursday GA Stadium is $199 with a final level pricing of $210 and Saturday and Sunday GA Stadium is $199 before skyrocketing to $210.
Good luck, guys! Hope your bank account doesn't break or it's months of Dollar Tree top ramen noodles for you.
Last time I saw Chevelle at The North Corridor tour in 2017 with Black Map and Dinosaur Pile-Up one ticket cost roughly $50. I'm rooting for you! Stuff like this is why I'll never go to these types of festivals.
Today I'll discuss heavy metal and hard rock bands from the past who at one point made a significant impact on me and some I couldn't get into, there's lots of those, as well as others from my childhood. Let's get started on this post.
We'll begin with Disturbed in the early 2000s lasting a good handful of years before outgrowing it. This was followed up by Canadian hard rockers Default who, unfortunately, only lasted two songs, but they were great songs nonetheless. I think most teens loved Evanescence, Linkin Park, and Flyleaf before Lacey left the group. I was also briefly into In This Moment and Nightwish.
I loved Annette as their lead singer, but sadly, I quickly lost interest when she was replaced by Floor Jensen. Does anyone know who the singer is for Nightwish nowadays? I also tried getting into Godsmack, however, that also dissolved when I heard the band broke up or something?
Now onto the topic of my childhood where I remember Alice In Chains on TV and radio during the early 90s. I was pretty good with this outfit but it just fizzled out for no reason. One encounter I vaguely remember was running up to a long CD shelf at some department store, probably Wal-Mart, and asking my older sister if I could have a Cinderella album which she said no to. Sorry, but I don't recall which record it even was.
There are a handful of bands I just couldn't get into: Breaking Benjamin, Korn, Slipknot, 10 Years, Nonpoint, Creed, Nickleback, Alter Bridge, Stone Sour, Shinedown and Sevendust with the exception of one song each, and so many more. My tastes have changed so much over the years I just can't get into it.
Sacramento hard rockers Die Trying quickly rose to the scene with their only hit “Oxygen's Gone” receiving a fair amount of airplay on MTV2 and Fuse TV. Their self-titled debut dropped June 10th, 2003 through Island Records, and they toured with Hoobastank and Andrew W.K. before disbanding in 2007.
However, over time the drama of labels and many other mishaps, one of which was their band name conflicting with a clothing brand, sank the ship and members were forced to move on to other projects. Some of these included Vanity Kills, Sin City Angels and they even formed a new band called Brute.
A former member of Die Trying took to Instagram to post the cover of the band's last EP “For Our Friends” now available on streaming platforms after a decade of sitting idle in a vault.
I don't recall seeing very much of these people. I do, however, remember when “Oxygen's Gone” received heavy rotation on said music channels, but unfortunately, Die Trying faded into oblivion never to be seen or heard from again.
This was also around the time Chevelle dropped “Wonder What's Next” in 2002 and 2004's "This Type Of Thinking(Could Do Us In)" eventually plowing over those other people. My memory of Die Trying resurfaced March of 2025 as I compared and contrasted the years in which they dropped their debut alongside Chevelle and their albums during early to late Y2k.
Sometimes I wonder if I was ever supposed to be on this path before the whole thing fell apart after a string of bad luck. I remember when the early 2000s were saturated in hard rock bands hitting the scene, but this is also a big deal, moreover, because it's the beginning of the new era and my new identity fixing to come in between 2017-2026 after the completion of the last chapter in 2015.
Wherever these guys are now I wish them the best. Give that EP a listen and tell me what you think for old time's sake.

We all know Chevelle as a hard rock, slash, heavy metal band from Chicago, but one day, The Vitamin String Quartet, decided to do their own interpretation of the trio's signature sound into an intense and heavy string masterpiece. I think most of us Chevellions aren't too keen on classical music, however, a different take is appreciated once and a while. You can listen to the whole album on YouTube and Spotify to see what I mean.
According to Amazon, the string tribute album is described as “This power trio of brothers has created a uniquely captivating sound that is put on display by way of An Evening with Diablo: A String Tribute to Chevelle. Violin, viola, cello and bass seamlessly collide and blend to reproduce extraordinary renditions such as ‘Send the Pain Below’ and ‘The Red.’ This is a remarkable tribute to a band that has combined hardcore guitar and drum rhythms with vocals that simultaneously evoke chaos and order and invite the listener on a journey through the powerful and complex music that has propelled Chevelle to the top of the charts.”
Upon listening to “Family System” it's humorous how accurate it sounds to the original recording. Somebody in the comments, termi_925, says the album “sounds like a horror movie soundtrack”. I agree this effort should be implemented into more horror movies instead of the usual overused scores for subpar modern horror films.
This features eight songs from “Wonder What's Next” and two from “Point #1”.
The Vitamin String Quartet is a supergroup from Los Angeles active since 1999 focusing on modern classical music. Their albums are distributed via Vitamin Records. Other genres of interest are techno, metal, pop and rock, etc.
Between July 21st through August 10th Chevelle jammed a headlining tour during the summer of 2024 featuring support from Tigerclub and Return To Dust on select dates. The Chicago outfit focused mostly on North American cities and festival appearances at InKarceration and Rock Fest.
“Chevelle have been hard at work on a new album, the follow-up to 2021's acclaimed ‘NIRATIAS’. But they're taking a break this summer to hit the road.”
This tour kicked off July 10th in Omaha and concluded August 10th in Madison, Wisconsin with Tigerclub as main support. The general on-sale for this tour launched Friday, April 19th at 10am.
Chevelle uploaded a video announcement to their YouTube channel on June 14th alerting followers they were soon to hit the road alongside some of their friends in the midst of summer.

According to Loudwire, Chevelle toured extensively in 2017 in support of their 2016 album “The North Corridor”, the eighth record in the band's discography, with supporting acts Black Map and Dinosaur Pile-Up.
It was this tour specifically where I saw Chevelle the first time I ever saw Chevelle in concert when the trio hit my city on July 19th, 2017, and that's exactly why I'm revisiting it today.
The Chicago outfit hit the road across the United States including headlining dates across the West Coast, spring and summer legs in tandem with various festivals and other carnival pop-ups scattered throughout.
“The band has a mix of festivals and headlining dates on the horizon starting on April 1 at the Edgefest in Frisco, Texas.
Other festival appearances include stops at Fort Rock, Welcome to Rockville, Lunatic Lua, CarolinaRebellion and Rock on the Range.”
“Once the spring leg of touring wraps on May 25, the band will get breather before hitting the road again July 9 in Cleveland. The summer run includes support from Black Map.”
Aside from their usual offerings “The Red” and “Face To The Floor”, among other hits, the setlist for the “TNC” tour included “a heavy ‘return-to-form’ sound, with popular setlist staples including‘Door To Door Cannibals’, ‘Joyride(Omen)’ and ‘Send The Pain Below’.”
The West Coast leg began with a sold-out show at The Fillmore in San Francisco, CA on January 13th, 2017.
The spring/summer dates of TNC tour 2017 were announced in March, running through spring and coming back in July, a stop at the House of Blues Cleveland was also added to the itinerary.
Additional stints alongside this trek included Fort Rock, Welcome To Rockville, a performance at the Great New York State Fair was also added.
On or around the week of Memorial Day 2017, after surviving an awful car wreck in February resulting in totaling my first car before my second one broke down, "Joyride(Omen)” was aggressively overplayed every single day.
It took me back to the days of my adolescence when Chevelle's first two hits made their rounds on TV and radio.
It's a complete surprise to me I'd end up a fan so many decades later.
After being harassed by the radio DJ to buy tickets because it might sell-out, I was completely skeptical why anyone would continue supporting acts from my youth I personally consider old and outdated.
However, lo and behold, my show date indeed sold out as I snagged the last remaining tickets priced at about $50 or so.
I'll admit, I went to the show not only because entry was cheap and it's summer, which means I'm bored to death without any actual plans, but also because I just wanted to gawk and giggle at “Send The Pain Below” and “The Red” in a nostalgic moment of remembering youth.
Aside from the heavy anxiety and nearly panic attack while waiting in line, it was a wholesome fun time. Unfortunately, this wonderful moment was followed up by Hurricane Irma, completely quitting concerts by December and Dean departing from the band in 2019.
The many podcasts I've listened to over the years left me feeling bored and at times made me fall asleep midway through the show.
Emily Jade O'Keefe, an Australian DJ, teamed up with her daughter Millie Valentine to bring the Move Over Mama podcast to the delight of adolescents all over the world.
You may already be familiar with Valentine and O'Keefe as they're blood relatives of Hayley Loeffler, Sam's wife of 16+ years, and Emily is actually her sibling.
I find it fascinating that the rest of Pete and Sam's family still love working together on projects as they both do as well.
One of my favorite moments from the MOMP episodes is when preteen finalist, twelve year old Sofia, discussed her “You Are Loved” plushies and her struggles with mental health issues in the midst of her parents divorcing and handling cruel bullies at school all while starting puberty.
I've also met my own difficulties concerning mental health, and these days in particular, it's especially difficult with relentless attacks from seedy people with hidden agendas triggering my suicidal ideation.
Below the video, a brief description reads:
“Miss Preteen Australia finalist and 12-year-old creator Sofia joins us to share how she turned bullying, anxiety and big feelings into something beautiful:
her You Are Loved plush toy range supporting kids’ mental health charity Kids Express.”
“Real advice for teens struggling right now – and for parents who don’t know what to do.”
According to their channel description, the pair explain their mission statement in the simplest of terms:
“Move Over Mama is a global, teen-led podcast hosted by Millie Valentine, with her mum Australian radio personality Emily Jade O’Keeffe
stepping aside and handing over the microphone.
Designed for teens navigating confidence, growth, and real life, the show features honest conversations
with inspiring guests about what growing up really looks like and the lessons that shape who we become.”
Aesthetically speaking, the neon pink lights give it a very festive feeling reminiscent of a nightclub where we all just sit and chill with drinks to talk about the most pressing issues in our lives as if you were having coffee with an old friend.
The warmth of comforting words and happy smiles invites a pleasant environment where it's safe to speak up about what ails us in spite of age.
We all need to know we are loved!

Sam is a guest star in the clip below where he talks about the band, his marriage to Hayley and offers actually decent life
advice you won't ever get from these social media influencers.
I've been relentlessly attack by social media since the end of March 2024 because a colossal chapter of my life drew to a close and they're not happy about it which is one reason why they put high-tech surveillance on me, but that's not the point of this post.
My sense of humor is in the toilet and I'm often forgetting even the simplest things to fully function in everyday life. One of these punishments includes triangulating two parties against each other in a secret competition
- social media is malicious like that, just FYI, especially when they're pathologically jealous and hateful of someone's blessings.
*Time to go back in time to February 4th when I posted some scenery pics of Key West, Florida, I live in Orlando close to downtown, and selected “One Ocean” from the Instagram music library as a song of choice.*
On March 19th, 2026 I cruised over to a Chevelle fan account on Instagram under a meme about Pete swallowed by a pelican.
That's all cute and funny, but I for some reason, left a comment about Pete spending more time with his wife and child assuming this was another contest between one account I used to converse with, I don't anymore since they turned out to be douchey, and Pete himself.
I then deleted the comment since I thought it was in poor judgement and distasteful. Immediately I felt like an idiot for doing this so I finally logged off IG for the rest of the night.
Come March 28th Pete does a photo dump of his time in Key West with the family. I'm floored why he'd take anything I say seriously?
Anyway, he's returned from vacation ready to hit the road as main support for Breaking Benjamin beginning April 18th. I hope he has fun on tour!
For today's blog entry I want to list my top favorite Chevelle albums in order of what I regularly listen to everyday. All ten albums from “Point #1” to “Bright As Blasphemy” are epic masterpieces, but these are just my preferences. You can agree or disagree with me if you'd like that's not a problem. If you want to like something different, that's fine because every album is sensational. Let's get started!
1.Hats Off To The Bull: This is hands down my most favorite Chevelle album of their entire discography. My favorite track will always be “Prima Donna”, however, my other favorites are “Envy”, “Clones” and “The Meddler”. “Face To The Floor” reminds me of how easy it is to lose everything you've worked hard for in the lowest point in your life but ultimately regain with “Arise” and the title track “Hats Off”.
2.Bright As Blasphemy: Here's my next favorite post-Dean album. Although short, it's still packed with top tracks instead of fillers. It's short and sweet and you can get through it in one listen. Kemble Walters does a wonderful job as a replacement and let's hope for many more.
3.Vena Sera: Here's the beginning of Dean's stint with the band before he dropped off in 2019. It reminds me of spring break and summers by the pool, and not only that, but you can also hear the ambience of Vegas through tracks like “Antisaint”, “The Fad”, “Humanoid”, and “I Get It”. I personally think this is their ultimate party album.
4.This Type Of Thinking: This record actually came out the year I graduated high school in 2004. I think this is a very important effort for the band, not only because it's Joe's last album, but also because it captures the dreary melancholy of post-fame in “Get Some”, “Panic Prone”, “Tug-O-War”, “Bend The Bracket” as the closer and others.
5.Point #1: The band's debut is a fun one I could jam out to during spring or summer break alongside “Vena Sera”. It's sometimes fun reliving the tail end of the 90s since it dropped when I was still thirteen before my next birthday in June. It's so reminiscent of the grunge and hard rock scene from my early childhood before pop-punk took over in 1994.
6.Niratias: This is Sam and Pete's solo project. I really think it's a cool effort with lots of interludes and atmospheric sounds laced throughout the trackslist. Who can forget “Lost In The Digital Woods”?
7.Sci-Fi Crimes: Here's one album without much, if any, screaming at all, yet it really showcases Pete's flawless vocal delivery in “Roswell's Spell” and a random acoustic ballad “Highland’s Apparition” makes me believe in aliens!
8.The North Corridor: So 2017 was a very interesting year for me after fourteen years away from the band. “Joyride(Omen)” was our reunion when, of course, the only rock station in Orlando returned to its usual antics of overplaying songs as if it were going out of style. Since my car broke down four years ago I haven't been near a radio in quite some time so I'm not even sure what they're doing with newer singles these days, but I digress, and say this album melted my icy heart and finally made me a fan after so long.
9.Wonder What's Next: Here's a nostalgic record from my adolescence when “The Red” and “Send The Pain Below” were aggressively overplayed during their heyday in the early 2000s. I'd just ended sophomore year and weeks away from beginning junior year. Those were fun times!
10. LaGargola: This is Chevelle's most successful album to date since charting at number three on the Billboard 200 in 2014. My favorite tracks are “An Island”, “One Ocean” and “Twinge”. “The Damned” reminds me of a peculiar encounter I had in the wee hours of the morning one Saturday night but that's another story for another day. April 1st, 2026 marks the twelfth year anniversary of "La Gargola"!
11.12 Bloody Spies: B-Sidesand Rarities: I love all the extra tracks compiled onto one disc since it saves money and time chasing down expanded albums typically more expensive and harder to find online. I love to listen to this when the weather begins to cool in the Southeast with a cup of hot coffee.
