Listen To This Tribute Album By A String Quartet

We all know Chevelle as a hard rock, slash, heavy metal band from Chicago, but one day, The Vitamin String Quartet, decided to do their own interpretation of the trio's signature sound into an intense and heavy string masterpiece. I think most of us Chevellions aren't too keen on classical music, however, a different take is appreciated once and a while. You can listen to the whole album on YouTube and Spotify to see what I mean.

According to Amazon, the string tribute album is described as “This power trio of brothers has created a uniquely captivating sound that is put on display by way of An Evening with Diablo: A String Tribute to Chevelle. Violin, viola, cello and bass seamlessly collide and blend to reproduce extraordinary renditions such as ‘Send the Pain Below’ and ‘The Red.’ This is a remarkable tribute to a band that has combined hardcore guitar and drum rhythms with vocals that simultaneously evoke chaos and order and invite the listener on a journey through the powerful and complex music that has propelled Chevelle to the top of the charts.”

Upon listening to “Family System” it's humorous how accurate it sounds to the original recording. Somebody in the comments, termi_925, says the album “sounds like a horror movie soundtrack”. I agree this effort should be implemented into more horror movies instead of the usual overused scores for subpar modern horror films.

This features eight songs from “Wonder What's Next” and two from “Point #1”.

The Vitamin String Quartet is a supergroup from Los Angeles active since 1999 focusing on modern classical music. Their albums are distributed via Vitamin Records. Other genres of interest are techno, metal, pop and rock, etc.
