The outfit continued playing gigs throughout the rest of the year, and by October 30th, they joined the likes of Megadeth, Sevendust, Slipknot, Static-X and others at the Gexa Energy Pavilion in Dallas, Texas. On Halloween, leading up to the “Point #1” tour they'd play in Tulsa, Oklahoma for Friday Night at The Brady Theater. Coal Chamber, Machine Head, and Orange 9 mm were also there.
The real tour for the band's debut kicked off November 5th in Austin, Texas at the Backroom. On December 12th they were joined by Sevendust, Static-X and Dope for the Wisconsin Death Trip in Portland, Maine at the State Theatre is a great way to end the year.
Chevelle continued touring into the new decade alongside Filter and Oleander on March 11th, 2000, two years before releasing their landmark album “Wonder What's Next”, at the Ogden Theatre in Denver, Colorado. The pic below was shot by Shru Maximus.
The Chicago trio also played festivals like the Bonne Fete Festival on March 26th in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at Downtown. Earthday Birthday in Fort Myers, Florida at Lee Civic Centre on April 26th. Another show is the Livestock Festival X at The Venue Zephyrhills Festival Park in Zephyrhills, Florida on April 29th. Sam and his bros Pete and Joe were joined by a broad range of acts Sevendust, Stains, Creed, 3 Doors Down, and so many others. Chevelle also performed at CPR Fest on May 19th in Biloxi, Mississippi at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum as a lone headliner. The tour wrapped up on November 24th at The Metro in Chicago.
A year later Chevelle teamed up with Disturbed and Taproot kicking off November 14th, 2001 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at the Kool Haus for the Music As A Weapon Tour.
